Sports Coaching & Leadership

Supporting your organisation develop a Leadership & Volunteering programme to add value to your club or organisation. Volunteers can use this experience to enhance their CV for their continued education or future employment. 10 Volunteers offering 1 hour per week provides over 500 hours per year of support for your club. A personalised approach can be alongside National Governing Body accreditations so that your leadership programme maximises the impact on your club. Specific specialisms include inclusive leadership academies and dedicated programmes for people with disabilities and additional needs.

Personal Assistant

Specialised PA support for children, young people, adults and their families who have a range of additional needs and disabilities including: Learning Disabilities, Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Differences, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other individuals with or without a diagnosis. I support individuals/families who access social care direct payments (children and adult services) aswell as those who are not registered for direct payments. Key focus areas of support include: Being active, accessing community activities, personal independence skills & socialisation.

Inclusion in Sport

Offering bespoke support to your sports club or organisation to give your personnel the confidence and skills to become more inclusive for children, young people and adults with disabilities and additional needs. My approach is friendly, progressive and non-judgemental. Sharing 30 years experience of inclusive sports coaching and working across a range of services with you so together, with your coaches invaluable sports specific knowledge, we can support more people access high quality sport & physical activity.

Hello! I’m Emma

A brief introduction……

  • 30 years+ experience in a variety of sports and physical activities settings
  • 20 years+ experience of PA support and working alongside families with children and young adults who have disabilities and additional needs
  • 10 years+ experience of sport development programmes including Derbyshire Disability Sport Development Officer
  • Coaching qualifications in a range of individual and team sports and activities
  • Founded High Peak Trampolining & Rebound Therapy Club and sat as a committee member for over 10 years
  • Worked in Education, Social Care, Local Councils, NHS, Community & Voluntary Sectors and in multi-agency settings
  • Experience of leading facilities, health and safety management and mentoring programmes
  • Managed a multi-activity inclusive sports centre for all ages and a range of abilities including holiday camps, weekly group & 1:1 sessions and social activities
  • Secretary & Sport Development Officer for Glossopdale Sports & Recreation Forum

My Ethos

‘Providing or supporting the access to Sport and Physical Activity for everyone’.
I want everyone to see and reach their potential in the field of disability and inclusive sport. From a once a week physical activity session to becoming a leader in a sport they love or even developing a career or long term interest – Sport and Physical Activity should play a role in everybody’s life. I will support you as an individual or organisation to gain the confidence to access or deliver activities so collectively we can continue to ‘Change Hearts and Minds’ and you can join me in this vision. I am based in the High Peak and pride myself on offering a high quality personalised service to local people.
